60% Sangiovese, 40% Trasimeno Gamay
A wine that showcases Sangiovese along with the tiny Colli del Trasimeno DOC’s unique local variety - Gamay del Trasimeno (a local strain of Grenache). Wild yeast fermentation. Aged in cement, then old oak barrels for 6 to 8 months. Minimal added sulfur and no filtering or fining.
This a beautiful wine, with plenty of earthy, Italian seriousness, but balanced with a light and fruity playfulness.
Pairs well with hors d’oeuvres, with meats and cheeses, first courses of pasta or beans.
